HRTS Launches New Associate Membership, Digital Series

Hi to all of our HRTS Members and Member Companies!  It's fall and there's so many exciting things happening within our organization.  Read on for the highlights!

Lauren Michal and Meredith Willis

Associate Level Membership

HRTS has officially launched the the new Associate Membership... created to fill the organizational void that exists between our early career JHRTS members and the traditionally senior level executive constituency of HRTS.  Associate membership is designed for industry professionals who have matriculated beyond the assistant/coordinator ranks and recognize that events and activities exclusively targeting the rising executive are key to advancing in our industry.  On Tuesday July 12, over one hundred potential HRTS Associate members gathered for the formal kickoff at Hollywood hotspot The Library Bar at The Redbury.  Future associate members mixed and mingled with the newly seated Associate Board, led by co-presidents Meredith Willis and Lauren Michal for an entertaining and informative evening planting the flag for this 071216_HRTS_079_smg-photographyexciting new HRTS initiative.

Knowledge.  Networking.  Career development.  HRTS Associate Membership provides activities and programs specifically designed to drive your career forward, build the relationships needed as you continue your career ascent and prepare you for the next stage in your media industry career.

The New HRTS Digital Cocktail Series

As our industry evolves, success means staying abreast of the latest trends, technologies and opportunities that present themselves. With that in mind HRTS has launched our newest initiative, the HRTS Digital Cocktail Series. Our intent is to present an exploration of the next generation disruptors/replacers; those new players in the entertainment space who are not attempting a different way of delivering 'television', but are rather providing an audience with an alternative way of engaging content. We kicked off the Digital Cocktail Series with an evening reception and panel titled The New Digital Disruptors, featuring top execs from Surreal, Fullscreen, MobLabs and Victorious. Curated and hosted by HRTS Board Members Scott Hervey and Ian Moffitt, this program is part of HRTS’ new Spotlight Series designed to “shine a spotlight” on important segments of the media industry.  Designed informal and collegial, these events are intended to allow our audience to deep dive into subjects and topics that deserve a more detailed examination and discussion. The Spotlight Series has already presented panels on International Scripted Formats, Children’s and Family TV,  Ratings and Measurement and even an up-close conversation with Showtime’s The Circus on this year’s crazy political landscape.  Whether breakfast or evening, these events provide a casual networking environment followed by an in-depth panel discussion on the topic of the day.  Closing the panel is an audience Q&A segment to really drill down on the day’s topic. The HRTS Digital Cocktail Series...and The Spotlight Breakfast Series..Just our latest initiatives fulfilling HRTS’ commitment to Networking, Knowledge and Career Development.
