HRTS/JHRTS Mentorship party a rousing success!
The 2014 HRTS/JHRTS Mentorship Program officially kicked off on Wednesday, February 12th poolside at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Over one hundred fifty attendees enjoyed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and conversation in anticipation of the coming year’s mentorship activities. This year’s edition of the mentor program is the largest ever, with over 300 participants from across the industry landscape coming together to help develop the next generation of industry leaders.
After a brief welcome by HRTS Executive Director Dave Ferrara, HRTS President Bela Bajaria (Universal Television) and HRTS VP Adam Berkowitz (CAA) shared some insightful comments on the importance of mentors in their own careers and encouraged the participants to truly embrace the opportunity the program affords. Mentors and their mentees then spread out around the party to get to know one another better in the relaxed poolside environment. The 2014 edition of the mentorship program will officially run until Fall 2014.
Some of the mentors in attendance to celebrate the launch included, in addition to Bela and Adam, HRTS Officer Ian Moffitt (Machinima), HRTS Board Member Russ Krasnoff (Krasnoff/Foster), Craig Cegielski (FremantleMedia N.A), Bob Gersh (Gersh), Grant Gish (21st Century Fox Television), Rob Golenberg (Scripted World), Dan Harrison (FOX Broadcasting), Holly Jacobs (Sony), Philippe Maigret (Endemol), David Park (UTA), Chris Selak (Lionsgate), Thom Sherman (The CW), Andrea and Jody Simon, and many more.
HRTS wishes to acknowledge 2014 program co-chairs Jessie Dicovitsky, Rachel Sparr and Jade-Addon Hall for their incredible efforts in coordinating the mentor pairings. In addition we encourage all HRTS members to consider participating in the program next cycle which will begin forming in October.
