JHRTS Women in Hollywood panel

February was an awesome month for JHRTS panels. One of the two panels that was successfully executed was their first annual JHRTS Women in Hollywood Panel. JHRTS members (both men and women) were able to hear from industry leaders about their experiences navigating the challenging road of success in the entertainment industry. Moderated by Variety Deputy Editor, Cynthia Littleton, our esteemed panelists were screenwriter and ARMY WIVES creator, Katherine Fugate, Executive Producer, Ellen Rakieten, CAA agent, Sonya Rosenfeld and EVP BBC Worldwide, Jane Tranter. Despite some technical difficulties, the women held a lively and candid discussion around their various professional and personal triumphs and challenges. From how to stand out and get promoted to how they handled maternity leave, panelists share some no-holds-barred truths about climbing the corporate entertainment ladder. In the end, attendees were able to ask panelists their own questions and each panelist was gracious enough to stay after closing to close out the auditorium past 10pm answering more questions. Our JHRTS board received notes from members expressing how much they appreciated all that the panelists had to say and how inspired they were by our panelists. It was a great night and a great event! Multiple members communicated with HRTS how inspired they were by the event. The night was chaired by Chika Chukudebelu. More pictures from the Women in Hollywood panel.

JHRTS February Philanthropy benefited The Trevor Project, the leading national organization focused on crisis and suicide prevention efforts among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth. 20 JHRTS members volunteered three hours of their time on Saturday, February 19th, 2011. While on site at The Trevor Project offices in West Hollywood, 400 survival kits were created to send to educators around the country, fulfilling one weekly request order for the call center. The event was led by Jason Coffey.

Our Feburary mixer was at the hot new bar The Wellesbourne. Organized by co-president
